It was a tranquil hotel which had good service. The breakfast was tasty and super with cheese, ham plus juice and attention to detail.
The staff were disappointing, didn't expect that coming.

The location - which was the main reason why we chose it.
Its exterior appearance looks rather tired and neglected E.G. (attic windows). For 4 stars and the prices charged, we would have expected a little more (Bathrooms were small). The food was very good but it came in hikers' portions and lacked the 4* star treatment but maybe Mondays are the chef's days-off. Far too much advertising on display - a little bit more subtlety here would help. Very much in your face. Move it away from main entrance. Also, maybe a bit of training of staff on how to mix and serve drinks (a bloody mary, for example is not just tipping a tomato juice into a measure of vodka and that's it, take or leave it). Consistency in bar pricing - the same two drinks for two evenings were priced very differently. Maybe a bit more attention to detail, comparable with 4* star hotels elsewhere, would help a lot. And dim the lights a bit in the lounge or use stand lamps. Small, inexpensive changes would make a big difference. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and have no significant complaints, just helpful suggestions, we hope.

Lovely dated hotel in a lovely area. Very clean and nicely laid out
May have been just that night but they seemed to one body short on staffing levels just to mind the bar etc during dinner. Very slight moan though.

Truly enjoyed the way our large twin/double room with fireplace was. The staff was consistently courteous at all times.

The fine location by the loch provided a tranquil backdrop for our stay, complemented by the luxurious decor throughout the hotel. Staff were wonderfully attentive. The breakfast lacked local flavors such as black pudding or lorne sausage, which would have elevated the experience, and the dinner options were unmemorable in presentation. The Wi-Fi was quite slow, detracting from overall convenience.

Friendly receptionist kindly offered and took our sodden clothing into the drying room for the night. با تشکر از شما (Thank-you.) High pressure hot and cold taps - the most impressive thermo and fluid dynamics I've ever seen - which was exactly what was needed after an afternoon of travelling in wet, cold and windy conditions. Spacious double bedroom.
The atmosphere at breakfast was too formal, perhaps people would be less self conscious if there was some background music? It might cheer up the breakfast staff also! The bathroom was a bit dated - not what I expected for the room rate.

Old building with a some interesting history.
Having read the information and seen the images, we were really looking forward to staying here. Really is not a four star hotel. Needs day to day attention (many light bulbs blown in public areas and damaged ceiling in the bar). Quite unkempt in the front. Some of the staff where quite brusque when inviting us into the restaurant. Rooms were quite dated, especially the en suite bathrooms. Looking at the additional services (which we did not use) was quite exceptional, for example, £30.00 cover charge for room service for a 24 hour period. The evening meal choice was very limited and the food quite ordinary. The cheese platter with local cheeses had Brie amongst other non-descript cheeses. The staff did not know what the cheeses where but I am not sure Scotland is known for its’ brie! Everybody in the restaurant was very quiet both at dinner and breakfast, not talking above a whisper. There was also quite a smell of cigarette smoke from time to time which is a shame as it was a non-smoking hotel. Location wise, it is near Oban, however, there is a busy main road between it and the loch, so not an ideal location

Amazing Views and Delectable Dining
The room offered a fine sea view and a cozy sitting area. Dining was a highlight. The salmon was really good, and the staff quickly accommodated my dietary needs. Don't miss relaxing on the lawn to admire the loch views!

I had a wonderful stay at Knipoch, where the cozy lounges and astonishing views of Loch Feochan enhanced our experience. While the hot tub was unavailable, the fantastic food and friendly staff certainly made up for it. A nice getaway overall!

Rooms were a bit dated in style but very comfortable.
Although the hotel and rooms were welcoming the whole hotel could do with an overhaul, ensuite very small and looked like it was dragged out of the 1960's. Major communication issue with staff, e.g. was asked to come to the dinner table with "come with me now" . Some of the restaurant staff not very attentive, had to leave whole evening meal as nobody was available to ask for it to be resolved. Menu, breakfast and dinner was very limited although fruit , ceareals, meat and yogurts were readily available for breakfast but not listed on the menu. Evening meals were over priced for what was given. Choices of dishes (4) every evening two of which were fish, always had the same vegetables on the plate, carrots, broccoli, 2 boiled potatoes.

The quiet location and the oldy world interior, also the staff were very friendly and polite
Too quiet in the evening, also we dined on our second evening at the hotel and found the food too bland and overpriced, the menu was basic with no steak available as we had booked the evening meal after breakfast without the menu being prepared, otherwise the stay was ok
